Gumtree
As the exclusive designer overseeing the Gumtree UK account at DEPT®, my primary focus was the development of monthly email marketing campaigns, in addition to crafting buyer and seller user journey email campaigns. I also took charge of creating landing pages and illustrative projects.
These projects required a comprehensive range of skills, including creative direction, UX design, illustration, image retouching, digital design, animation, and the implementation of responsive design principles. I harnessed a suite of industry-standard software, including Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects, to meticulously craft and optimize assets for these campaigns.
In addition to creative work, the Gumtree account also involved strategic projects. We developed a user-friendly traffic light system, utilizing arrow-shaped icons that changed colour to convey real-time information about the performance of sellers’ listings. This approach aimed to make information easy to grasp at a glance.
I had the opportunity to delve into the world of storyboarding and collaborate with the talented team at DEPT® to produce a video case study showcasing our work for Gumtree in 2022. You can view the final case study video below to see our accomplishments.

My experience with the Gumtree account was incredibly rewarding. I had the privilege of enjoying a high degree of creative freedom, which allowed me to explore the art of art direction and storytelling through design. During this journey, I expanded my skillset, delving into the dynamic world of animation and infusing life into campaigns with engaging illustrations.
